To celebrate the 85th anniversary, Turkish Airlines presents new uniforms for the crew, a partnership with Italian designer Ettore Bilotta.
The new collection will take effect shortly after the inauguration of the new airport in Istanbul, which is the home of the airline.
The design of the pieces is inspired by Turkish culture with contemporary textures and details. There are shapes and colors found on the Bosphorus in Istanbul that characterize the energy of the most dynamic city in Turkey.
In addition to hats, gloves, pajamas, dresses, bags and accessories for flight crew and ground staff, the new collection also includes Flying Chefs uniforms – the great Chefs aboard Business Class.
The designer responsible, Ettore Bilotta, points out: “when I started designing for Turkish Airlines, the first thing that inspired me was Istanbul. This city has been a cauldron of art and civilization for centuries and has a rare richness as well as a heritage of many cultures. I wanted to incorporate elements of traditional calligraphy and mosaics along with new interpretations of Turkish motifs that emphasize modern lines, foulards and ties to reflect a contrast and duality”.
Turkish Airlines joins photographer and artist, Miles Aldridge, for the exclusive shooting in Istanbul.
